Formed in 1999, the band began singing in English. However, after the third album, the majority of songs are in <strong>Catalan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Gertrudis\"><\/span>Gertrudis<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Formed in 2004 by three friends, Xavi Ciurans (vocals), Xavi Freire (vocals and guitars) and Edu Acedo (vocals and violin), the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/rumba-catalana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rumba Catalana<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0rhythmic style that was developed during the mid 20th-century from flamenco and Cuban influences. After going their separate ways in 2011, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gertrudis.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Gertrudis<\/a><\/strong> reunited to celebrate their 15th anniversary and released &#8220;Quinze15XV,&#8221; a collection of their greatest hits chosen by their fans.
