Some of these include <strong>Platja de Llafranc<\/strong> with its coral sand and turquoise clear waters,\u00a0<strong>Platja de Canadell,<\/strong> which is the largest beach at <strong>Calella de Palafrugell,\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Port Bo<\/strong>, which is famous for the Havaneres show in July, and the <strong>Platja de Tamariu<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>which is quieter and more ideal for families. <strong>Palafrugell<\/strong> beaches are also perfect for a number of water activities such as snorkeling, diving, kayaking and boat excursions to name but a few. You can also visit the Cork Museum, or the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.palafrugell.cat\/serveis-ciutadania\/museu-del-suro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><strong>Museu del Suro<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0as it is referred to locally, centered on the history of <strong>Palafrugell\u2019s<\/strong> role in the cork manufacturing industry. Originally a private home, the <strong>Cap Roig<\/strong> is home to a castle and a garden with over 1,000 botanical species located by the sea in<strong> Calella de Parafrugell<\/strong>.\u00a0The garden is known for hosting the annual <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/festival-2\/\"><strong>Cap Roig music festival<\/strong><\/span>, a series of outdoor summer concerts. It&#8217;s an ideal destination for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/alternative-architecture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">architecture<\/a><\/strong> buffs as it consists of an Iberian archeological site, a watchtower, and a lighthouse from which the beautiful views of the coast can be seen. It&#8217;s\u00a0about 135 kilometers from <strong>Barcelona<\/strong> by car. <strong>Palafrugell<\/strong> is also only an hour away from the <strong>Girona International Airport<\/strong>, where there are several buses all day long that connect from the airport to Palafrugell. You can also get there by train from the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/sants-train-station\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sants Railway Station<\/a> <\/strong>in <strong>Barcelona<\/strong>. Take the train to <strong>Portbou<\/strong> and get off at <strong>Flaca<\/strong>, which is about 25 kilometers away from Palafrugell. There are several connecting buses from this train station.
