His work is centered on three essential elements: poetry, action and the visual. He was one of the early proponents of <strong>visual poetry<\/strong> in <strong>Catalan<\/strong> literature and founder of the <strong>Dau al Set<\/strong> group together with renowned artists like <strong>Antoni T\u00e0pies<\/strong>, <strong>Joan Pon\u00e7<\/strong>, <strong>Arnau Puig<\/strong>, <strong>Modest Cuixart<\/strong>, <strong>Joan-Josep Tharrats<\/strong> and <strong>Juan-Eduardo Cirlot<\/strong>. The <strong>Dal al Set<\/strong> was committed to reviving the <strong>Catalan<\/strong> artistic tradition that was disrupted after Franco\u2019s rule. They published a magazine through which they put forward their artistic and intellectual interests. These giant letters, six of which are made of bronze and one of aluminium, are bolted to the ground and stand in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.es\/maps\/place\/Pla%C3%A7a+Nova,+08002+Barcelona\/@41.3842419,2.1731275,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x12a4a2f9c32e57f9:0xe6addbbdaf04fe78!8m2!3d41.3842379!4d2.1753162\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pla\u00e7a Nova<\/a><\/strong>, in Barcelona&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/ice-cream-gothic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Gothic Quarter<\/strong><\/a>, perhaps as his tribute to the city\u2019s history. Each of the letters takes a different form and has a distinct personality which individually constitute a poem.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Poema_visual_transitable_en_tres_tiempos\"><\/span>Poema visual transitable en tres tiempos<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sculpture is located in the <strong>gardens of Mari\u00e0 Ca\u00f1ardo<\/strong> <strong>Lacasta<\/strong> in the distict of <strong>Horta-Guinardo<\/strong>, <strong>Barcelona. <\/strong>The visual poem is made up of various pieces scattered across the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/urban-gardens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">garden<\/a><\/strong> and signify the cycle of life; life, the path in life and death. These three life stages are represented visually; the first by a capital letter A, the second by various scoring signs are placed on the grass and the last by a broken letter A. The visual poem is comprised of two sets, in the first set, two red &#8220;A&#8221; letters are attached to the wall, and in the second, two red A letters are intertwined with one another as if performing some gymnastics, are on the roof of the store&#8217;s lobby. Brossa<\/strong> created it in 1994 for the Guild of booksellers of <strong>Catalonia.<\/strong> The guild uses the monument as a logo, and it has become a platform for paying tribute to <strong>Catalan<\/strong> writers. Every year a set of metal plates in the form of a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/cheap-bookstores\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<strong>book<\/strong> <\/a>are added at the foot of the monument with the signature of <strong>Catalan<\/strong> writers. Currently, there are 35 plates. The monument is made with stainless steel plates on a grey granite base and depicts interesting perspectives of either a closed or open book, depending on the angle at which it is observed. It was a tribute to the street which won the <strong>Sebasti\u00e0 Gasch<\/strong> prize in 1991.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cami_de_lA_to_Z\"><\/span>Cam\u00ed de l&#8217;A to Z<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This visual poem lies of the walls of one of the buildings on <strong>Carrer Valencia <\/strong>in <strong>Barcelona<\/strong>. It is made up of two letters of the alphabet: A and Z. In between the two letters are footprints. The piece represents a journey marked by a beginning, a path inbetween and the end. It is a symbol of a grasshopper made of Steel which <strong>Brossa <\/strong>chose to signify wisdom as a tribute to architects and technical architects in Barcelona.
