Cumbia<\/strong> is a native folklore sound and dance of the Caribbean Coast of Colombia<\/strong> which arises from the culture of the indigenous people in that region. It is very popular in other Latin American<\/strong> countries, each with its own variations. The dance<\/strong><\/a> features the back-break basic step and is danced in a circular pattern sometimes called the Columbian<\/strong> or Cumbia<\/strong> circle basic. Like most Latin dances, it is closely related to Swing (which explains why there are many common moves found in Cumbia<\/strong> and Swing).
