Chances are that you&#8217;ve ridden the <strong>Metro<\/strong>\u00a0many times and are familiar with the majority of the <strong>stations<\/strong> on the various lines. But what about the\u00a0<strong>Gaud\u00ed Station<\/strong>? Or the\u00a0<strong>Correos Station<\/strong>? By looking carefully and closely while riding the <strong>Metro<\/strong>, you can spot it between Urquinaona and Jaume I, although it&#8217;s not in the best condition. For a while, <strong>Banco<\/strong> was the depot for <strong>Line 4<\/strong>\u00a0and legend says it served some of the banks in the area, but now it is completely abandoned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Related article: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/metro-station\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Barcelona Metro station names<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Gaudi_Station_L5\"><\/span>Gaud\u00ed Station (L5)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Gaud\u00ed Station<\/strong>\u00a0was built in 1968, but officially never opened as a designated <strong>Metro stop<\/strong>. It is located just next to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/sagrada-familia-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sagrada Fam\u00edlia<\/a>\u00a0underneath Avinguda Gaud\u00ed\u00a0and can actually be seen sometimes while traveling on <strong>Line 5<\/strong> to the current Sagrada Fam\u00edlia stop. The project to open this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/sants-train-station\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>station<\/strong><\/a> was abandoned in favor of opening up the current <strong>station<\/strong>, which is just a bit closer to the famous cathedral. Currently, the foyer is still in use by the <strong>TMB service\u00a0<\/strong>for employee purposes.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Correos_Station_L4\"><\/span>Correos Station (L4)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also on <strong>Line 4<\/strong> is<strong> Correos Station<\/strong>,\u00a0which lies under via Laietana between Jaume I and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/seafood-barceloneta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Barceloneta<\/a>. First incorporated in 1934, <strong>Correos Station<\/strong> was originally built to be the end of <strong>Line 3<\/strong> and served as the terminus for several years. It is located under La Rambla and was a part of Barcelona&#8217;s original <strong>Metro<\/strong> line. This <strong>station<\/strong> was abandoned when it was decided that\u00a0<strong>Lines 3<\/strong> and <strong>4<\/strong>\u00a0would be expanded and that older <strong>stations<\/strong>\u00a0would be replaced with newer and more modern ones. This station was replaced by the current <strong>Drassanes stop<\/strong> on <strong>Line 3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Travessera_Station_L3\"><\/span>Travessera Station (L3)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Located under Gran de Gr\u00e0cia, halfway between Diagonal and Fontana, is <strong>Travessera Station<\/strong>. The idea was to build a <strong>station<\/strong> between these two <strong>stops<\/strong> to make the journey between them shorter since it was thought that theses two <strong>stations<\/strong> were too far apart. However, the plans were abandoned early on and little work was completed on <strong>Travessera Station<\/strong>.
