Designed in 1985 by\u00a0architects\u00a0Luis Pe\u00f1a Ganchegui, Francesc Rius I Camps, Ant\u00f3n Pagola and Monserrat Ruiz, the\u00a0<strong>park<\/strong> is one of the sites that\u00a0show\u00a0the strongest connection to the neighborhood&#8217;s industrial past. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/parque-de-la-espana-industrial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>park<\/strong><\/a> occupies the area\u00a0where <strong>La Espa\u00f1a Industrial<\/strong>,\u00a0one of the most important\u00a0textile factories in the city used to stand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>park<\/strong> has an area of 11 acres, which are divided into a green, grassy field, a big plaza, an artificial lake, play areas, fountains and sports fields. The <strong>market<\/strong> first opened its doors in 1913, and today it still stands as one of the best and most traditional places to go shopping in the neighborhood.
