The\u00a0Museu Agbar de les Aig\u00fces<\/strong> or the\u00a0Agbar Water Museum<\/strong><\/span> is a venue which aims to promote knowledge about water, introducing it to the public in a fun and didatic way.<\/p>\n

They have a\u00a0permanent exhibit<\/strong> which is showcased in a modernist building<\/a> designed by architect Josep Amarg\u00f3s i Samaranch<\/strong>. Visitors will get to see the inside of the three main rooms in which the machines that produce energy to pump the water to every building in the city are displayed. Visitors will also learn about the history of Barcelona’s water supply and learn about the physical and chemical proprities of water.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0museum<\/strong>\u00a0also often receives\u00a0temporary exhibits<\/strong> of a photographic<\/a>, scientfic or technological nature, all of them relating to the world of water.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0museum<\/strong> also organizes a variety of activities for families, schools, seniors<\/a>, and professionals, which allow people of all ages to get to know more about\u00a0water<\/strong> and all that it has to offer.<\/p>\n

The Agbar Water Museum<\/strong> has received a number of awards throughout the years, such as the Premio Bonaplata<\/strong>, in 2006, for their educational project, the Galard\u00f3n Turismo Catalu\u00f1a, <\/strong>in 2008, for helping bring more tourism into the city, and the Premio Micheletti<\/strong>, in 2011, for excelency in the museum<\/strong> category.<\/p>\n
