In 2016, approximately 44 million people went through its terminals making it the second busiest <strong>airport<\/strong> in Spain. It is located just outside of the city center in <strong>El Prat de Llobregat<\/strong> where the <strong>airport<\/strong> gets its name from. With two terminals, it serves national, European and international flights to North America, South America, Middle East, Asia and Africa. To get to the <strong>airport<\/strong> in Barcelona by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/barcelona-public-transport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">public transport<\/a> you have a host of options including train, metro, bus or the aerobus service, all of which take between 20 and 30 minutes from the city centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Related Article: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/metro-airport-l9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L9 \u2013 Getting to the airport by subway<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Girona_-_Costa_Brava_Airport\"><\/span>Girona &#8211; Costa Brava Airport<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The<strong>\u00a0Girona airport<\/strong> is the second major <strong>airport<\/strong> in Catalonia and although smaller in size it is a useful hub for those traveling to <strong>Girona<\/strong> or to the beautiful <strong>Costa Brava<\/strong> in the summer. It has recently grown quite a bit, mainly due to the number of Ryanair flights that stop and leave from there. It can be used as an alternative to <strong>Barcelona airport<\/strong> but the journey from this <strong>airport<\/strong> to Barcelona takes a little over an hour. There are buses leaving from the <strong>airport<\/strong>\u00a0that take you to Barcelona, Girona and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/costa-brava-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Costa Brava<\/a> including Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar and Blanes.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reus_Airport\"><\/span>Reus Airport<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Reus Airport<\/strong> is located close to <strong>Costa Daurada<\/strong> near the city of Reus, the birthplace of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/casa-batllo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Antoni Gaud\u00ed<\/a>. It welcomes passengers traveling onto Salou, Cambils, Tarragona and one of Europe\u2019s largest theme parks,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.portaventuraworld.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">PortAventura<\/a>. To get to <strong>Reus Airport<\/strong> from Reus there is a regular bus service which only takes 20 minutes. It was the first <strong>airport<\/strong> built and owned by the Catalan Government, having opened its doors in 2010. There are direct buses from Barcelona to the <strong>Lleida airport\u00a0<\/strong>but they aren\u2019t very frequent so it\u2019s best to check the times before traveling.
