The good news is that you don\u2019t have to go far as it\u2019s right next to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/barcelona-sants-station\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Sants train station<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Named after a big textile factory of the same name, Espa\u00f1a Industrial, it is based on the elements water, wind and fire. The park is a great place to go with kids as there is the big iron dragon complete with slide and in the summer kids enjoy playing in the pool.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Parque_Joan_Miro\"><\/span>Parque Joan Mir\u00f3<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Joan Mir\u00f3 Park<\/strong> is close to Plaza Espa\u00f1a and has more green space than Parque de la Espa\u00f1a Industrial. The main feature of the park is Joan Mir\u00f3&#8217;s whopping 22-metre-high sculpture Dona i Ocell (Woman and Bird), although you have to use your imagination a bit! This park in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/barcelona-rent\/sants-montjuic\/sants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" class=\"broken_link\"><strong>Sants neighbourhood<\/strong><\/a> has different areas including a children\u2019s play area, pergolas and grassy areas to lie in the sun and enjoy a picnic.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Biblioteca_Publica_Joan_Miro\"><\/span>Biblioteca P\u00fablica Joan Mir\u00f3<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the edge of the Parque Joan Mir\u00f3 is the <strong>Joan Mir\u00f3 Public Library<\/strong>. Although not one of the biggest libraries in Barcelona it offers a nice and quiet place to read a book. The library is separated into two areas, the children\u2019s section and the adult\u2019s section, with a reading corridor in between the two.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Centro_Comercial_Las_Arenas\"><\/span>Centro Comercial Las Arenas<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Formerly a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/bullfighting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bullring<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>Las Arenas<\/strong> was transformed into a shopping centre which opened in 2011. A perfect spot to get those last minute souvenirs or gifts with over 100 shops to explore. Plus if you\u2019re feeling peckish there\u2019s a supermarket and a food court on the lower level. The square was built as part of the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition along with the Torres Valencianas, MNAC and the Magic Fountain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An impressive fountain dominates the centre of Plaza Espa\u00f1a which represents the country of Spain including its seas and rivers.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Torres_Venecianes\"><\/span>Torres Venecianes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As you make your way from Plaza Espa\u00f1a you are greeted by two <strong>Venetian towers<\/strong> which will look awfully familiar, if you have ever been to Venice. The towers were modeled on the bell-tower of St. Mark&#8217;s Basilica in Venice and are each 47m high.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Originally they were open to the public with a viewing gallery, but now they are both closed. The only time they are open is part of the 48h Open House BCN event. We highly recommend it to get a unique view of Montjuic!<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"MNAC\"><\/span>MNAC<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>Museu Nacional d&#8217;Art de Catalunya<\/strong><\/a> or<strong> MNAC<\/strong> is the national museum of Catalan art. The building itself is worth a visit. It is parked right on top of Montjuic hill which gives you a great view of the city. There are escalators up to the top for the lazy amongst us. The museum has an extensive collection with over a thousand years of art packed away, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to see it all.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Magic_Fountain\"><\/span>The Magic Fountain<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_84729\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-84729\" class=\"wp-image-84729 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/magic-fountains-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"magic fountain at night\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-84729\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Photo by atayxw via Visualhunt<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the day it is a pretty impressive <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/what-we-dont-see-from-the-montjuic-magic-fountain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fountain<\/a>,<\/strong> but it\u2019s at night when the magic comes to life, or so to speak.
