With its clear mapping and colour-coded lines from L1 to L11, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmb.cat\/en\/barcelona-transport\/map\/metro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">metro<\/a> is the easiest form of <strong>transport<\/strong> to get to grips with. Newcomers to the city might be put off using the <strong>bus<\/strong> because of the huge variety of routes available and the spaghetti-like route maps pinned up at <strong>bus stops<\/strong>. You&#8217;d be forgiven for not knowing where to start, let alone where to get off at the correct stop! The best approach is to use the <strong>TMB journey planner<\/strong>. Here you can enter your starting point and destination, select &#8216;traveling by bus&#8217; and the app will show you the best available route. If you want to explore the available routes, then <strong>TMB<\/strong> also has an interactive <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmb.cat\/en\/barcelona-transport\/map\/bus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Barcelona bus map<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to the daytime services, there are <strong>night buses<\/strong>, prefixed by the letter &#8216;N&#8217;. They are less frequent than the day services but run all through the night, so they can be very useful if you are trying to get home after a night on the town. It is worth checking out the available <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ambmobilitat.cat\/principales\/BusquedaNitBus.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">night bus services<\/a> <\/strong>before you head out, as it may be too much to think about after an evening of beer and tapas. You will save money if you <strong>buy an integrated travel card,<\/strong> if you plan to make several journeys. Please be advised that you can&#8217;t buy these on the bus, you need to buy them in advance from a metro, train or tram station. You should board the bus at the front unless you have a wheelchair or buggy, and exit at the middle or rear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When you first arrive in Barcelona, you might find the following <strong>bus routes<\/strong> the most useful:<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Buses_serving_the_airport\"><\/span><strong>Buses serving the airport:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmb.cat\/en\/barcelona\/buses\/-\/lineabus\/46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Service 46<\/a> <\/strong>runs from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/theatre-parallel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Avenida Parallel<\/a><\/strong> to Airport Terminals 1 and 2 via Pla\u00e7a Espanya. There are services at least every 20 minutes throughout the daytime. Journey times from the town center to the airport are around 40 minutes, but leave plenty of time to allow for traffic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After midnight, you can travel to the airport using the <strong>night bus services<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ambmobilitat.cat\/Principales\/TiraLinea.aspx?linea=223\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">N16<\/a> for T2 and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ambmobilitat.cat\/Principales\/TiraLinea.aspx?linea=224\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">N17<\/a> for T1. These services start from Pla\u00e7a Catalunya and take a rather tortuous route around El Prat de Llobregat, but they are the cheapest way to <strong>get to the airport at night<\/strong>. But when your feet are aching at the end of the day, you&#8217;ll probably be happy to take a seat at the nearest <strong>bus stop<\/strong>.
