After several years of debate and thanks to the inhabitants, the decision to create a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/parks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>public park<\/strong><\/a> instead of buildings\u00a0was taken, to agree with\u00a0the people of <strong>Gr\u00e0cia<\/strong>. A wise decision, because since its inauguration in 1976, the <a href=\"http:\/\/lameva.barcelona.cat\/es\/aprovechala\/parques-y-jardines\/parque-de-la-creueta-del-coll_92086020872.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><strong>Park de la Creueta del Coll<\/strong><\/a> is a great success for\u00a0the residents, but mostly for tourists. The <strong>park<\/strong>\u00a0welcomes a variety of trees: palms, cypresses, lime trees, acacias, plane trees, pine or willow; which offer a nice shaded area to visitors who wish to have a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/park-picnic-barcelona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">picnic<\/a>. This shallow pool brings freshness to visitors during heavy summer heat in Barcelona, and is surrounded by terraces and patios for lounging under\u00a0the shade. An artistic and no less impressive touch is added to this <strong>idyllic settin<\/strong>g, and is a\u00a0clear reference to\u00a0Narcissus myth, in love with his own reflection. It is an stately\u00a0sculpture of 54 tonnes by Eduardo Chillida, and called &#8220;In Praise of Water&#8221;.
