Because it is a big urban area, many may think the only beings we can find there are\u00a0of the human type. This reasoning is, however, inaccurate since <strong>Barcelona<\/strong> is also a city full of <strong>natural beauty<\/strong>, with beaches, mountains, rivers and forests. As an expected consequence of its natural surroundings, <strong>Barcelona<\/strong> is a very attractive place for <strong>animals<\/strong>. It is distributed around <strong>Llobregat\u2019s Delta\u00a0<\/strong>but also near Ser\u00f2s Lagoons (Lleida). This means you will not find it in any other place in the world. This <strong>amphibian<\/strong> has a chocolate-brown colored skin and lives under running rivers. It is estimated that there are around 1.500 individuals but the population is decreasing, mostly due to the mountain streams drying. The species is critically endangered, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/IUCN-Red-List-of-Threatened-Species\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" class=\"broken_link\">IUCN Red List of Threatened Species<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pseudophilotes_panoptes\"><\/span><em>Pseudophilotes panoptes<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Commonly known as <strong>Panoptes Blue<\/strong>, this butterfly is a <strong>native species<\/strong> from the\u00a0<strong>Iberian Peninsula<\/strong> and the of\u00a0<strong>North Africa<\/strong>. It lives at low regions with areas of dry land with small bushes and trees. Their beak and paws are black, but their fingers are yellow. The neck is long and S-shaped. <strong>Little Egrets<\/strong> live near the rivers and water banks from Southern and Center Europe. They usually feed alone, but can be seen in small flocks when sleeping.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mus_spretus\"><\/span><em>Mus spretus<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This animal can be known as <strong>Algerian Mouse<\/strong> or <strong>W<\/strong><strong>estern Mediterranean mouse<\/strong> because it can be found in the North Africa and along the Western Mediterranean. If you wish to find this wild mouse, search for open places. To do so you will have to stay up late since this is a <strong>nocturnal species<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"_The_list_is_not_over\"><\/span>\u00a0The list is not over<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you wish to know more about <strong>Barcelona\u2019s fauna<\/strong>, take the time to look at this list created by the Municipality of Catalonia.
