On <strong>every Saturday of July<\/strong>, <strong>August<\/strong>, and <strong>October<\/strong>, the streets around the famous <strong>Barcelona Cathedral<\/strong> will become the stage for <strong>Festa Catalana (The Catalan Festival)<\/strong>. Each session will feature a mix of different aspects of Catalan popular culture, with some shows being dedicated to specific themes. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barcelonaturisme.com\/wv3\/en\/agenda\/7474\/the-catalan-festival.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">full schedule<\/a> might be confusing to look at if you\u2019re a foreigner, so here\u2019s what you should expect:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Giants and big-heads \u2013<\/strong> Called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=k8-eqaafr1A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><em>gegants i capgrossos<\/em><\/a> in Catalan, these are costumed figures, normally dressed according to a theme. These will be a major feature in most of the <strong>Catalan Festival<\/strong> parades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Human Towers \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dHu05LVA8LY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><em>Casteller<\/em><\/a> groups will showcase all their strength and coordination skills with\u00a0traditional human towers. These are located in the famous gothic quarter and easily accessible from anywhere in <strong>Barcelona<\/strong>. If you choose to go by metro, use the yellow line (L4) and exit at the Jaume I station. If you\u2019d rather take the bus, lines 17, 19, 45 and N8 will all lead you to Via Laietana, where you should exit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is pretty much all we\u00a0can tell you \u2013 the rest needs to be experienced live.
