Once in Barcelona, you should make sure to visit the<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salvador-dali.org\/en\/museums\/dali-theatre-museum-in-figueres\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dal\u00ed Museum in Figueres<\/a><\/strong>, just a short train journey away from the big city.\u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/dali-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dal\u00ed Museum<\/a>\u00a0itself is a monumental work to behold, but on the inside rest some of the <strong>most famous paintings<\/strong> by Salvador Dali, and for tickets costing 14 euros, you can see them with your own eyes. In the center rests <strong>Gala<\/strong>, Dali\u2019s muse, naked on a pedestal. Next to her, a swan opens its wings over a blanket of water. In fact, the painting isn\u2019t surrealist at all, but instead a part of the pointillist series of paintings by the Catalan artist<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Poesia_de_America\"><\/span>Poes\u00eda de Am\u00e9rica<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This large (116 x 79 cm) and enigmatic oil painting was made in 1943. Next to the American rugby players a bottle of Coca-Cola spills a dark paint on a white sheet. Could it represent the racial problems in America? And what about the skin of Africa fading in the back?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The relationship between <strong>Dal\u00ed and Barcelona<\/strong> has always been grim, contrary to\u00a0<strong>Gaudi&#8217;s<\/strong>. No major works of art can be seen in the city, but in the hometown of the artist, Figueres, in the Teatre-Museu Dal\u00ed.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Other_Dali_sites_to_visit\"><\/span>Other Dal\u00ed sites to visit<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In addition to the museum that houses all this beautiful art located at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.es\/maps\/place\/Dal%C3%AD+Theatre-Museum\/@42.2679879,2.9596627,15z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x493f0fc6074ca1f0!8m2!3d42.2679879!4d2.9596627\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Pla\u00e7a Gala i Salvador Dal\u00ed,<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Girona holds other famous Dal\u00ed sites you can visit such as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salvador-dali.org\/es\/museos\/castillo-gala-dali-de-pubol\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Castillo Gala Dal\u00ed<\/strong><\/a>, one of the original homes of the eccentric artist and his wife Gala, and\u00a0<strong>Casa Salvador Dal\u00ed,\u00a0<\/strong>the artist&#8217;s home for 50 years that has been marked as a Site of Historical Interest.
