While he infuses the night with his own works, &#8220;Poes\u00eda en la Penumbra&#8221; is actually an <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/open-mic\/\">open mic night<\/span> in which anyone in the audience can participate; the participants can recite <strong>poems, stories<\/strong>, or even a few can play <strong>acoustic music<\/strong>. In addition, they are beginning to invite &#8220;<strong>featured performers<\/strong>&#8221; to share their poetry with the audience for slightly longer slots of time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the <strong>event is hosted in Spanish<\/strong>, and most\u00a0people perform in Spanish, any and <strong>all languages are welcome<\/strong>. In fact, with Dani&#8217;s slow and clear storytelling method, he is actually quite easy to understand for those of us who are still improving our Spanish abilities!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Atmosphere\"><\/span>The Atmosphere<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_68146\" style=\"width: 240px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-68146\" class=\"wp-image-68146\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/full-moon-1-300x289.jpg\" width=\"230\" height=\"222\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-68146\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo via Visualhunt<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What&#8217;s particularly special about this event is not only the talent that fills the Collective&#8217;s walls but also the atmosphere that\u00a0is created.\u00a0As it is poetry in the &#8220;penumbra,&#8221; The Collective turns its already <strong>charming space<\/strong> of exposed brick walls into a <strong>familial hub of creativity<\/strong>. Backing away from bright lights, loud music, and overall stimuli, they <strong>dim the lights<\/strong> and provide a small reading lamp for those who are reciting onstage. Furthermore, on the wall behind the performers, they project an image of a full moon; then, after each person is done with his or her performance, they have a cute &#8220;ceremony&#8221; in which they project onto the wall a shooting star to signify that person&#8217;s contribution to the evening.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Details\"><\/span>Details<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This event was just launched a few weeks ago and will be held every Wednesday evening at 9:00 P.M. The Collective is located at Carrer d&#8217;en Roig, 11, near Liceu metro (green line). There is a 2\u20ac entrance fee which includes a free drink.
