Girona<\/strong> is a city situated in the northern part of Catalonia on the French border. \u00a0Located 98 kilometers away from Barcelona, Girona<\/strong> stands on its own as a vibrant city of immense culture, Catalonian tradition, medieval architecture, and an exciting nightlife.<\/p>\n

Known as one of the most intriguing cities in Catalonia<\/strong>, Girona<\/a><\/strong> has more than 2,000 years of history under its belt. There you can see the For\u00e7a Vella, an ancient Roman fortress constructed to protect the city. \u00a0O<\/span>ther highlights of the city are the Jewish Quarter, the Arab Baths and the Medieval Quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n

With all of the diverse sights Girona<\/strong> has to offer you would imagine the city to be just as large or close to the size of Barcelona, but in fact, it is only 39.1 Km2.<\/p>\n

Nightlife, sports, museums<\/a> (lots of them), designer shopping outlets, food, wines and year round festivities… there are numerous things to do, see, eat and experience in\u00a0Girona<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Christmas\u00a0<\/strong>is a time that attracts a lot of tourists. The grandeur of the city’s Christmas circus shows, family orientated vibe, ice skating shows and venues, carol singing on just about every street and the increased promotion of hand and home made products during that time of year is only a fraction of what occurs in Girona<\/strong> during the festive season.<\/p>\n

\"MedievalSummer time in Girona<\/strong> is quite impressive too. Milestone & Ludivers, a fun and games display throughout the city was recently introduced by the city council.\u00a0 Ludivers is a new festival that focuses on encouraging fun and games for both children and adults, an interactive family exhibit throughout the city of some sort.<\/p>\n

Art festivals are always going on in Girona.<\/strong>\u00a0 The Flower, Guitar and Amateur Theatre Festival are among the events that are highly anticipated by the locals. Girona\u2019s<\/strong> city council is known for promoting the arts in the city, which makes it a great destination place for up and coming artists in Spain to go to gain recognition and support for their work.<\/p>\n

From the architecture\u00a0to the artistic<\/a> expression of the city, nightlife and the intricate history, Girona<\/strong>\u00a0is a city worth discovering.<\/p>\n
