They\u2019re there for a reason: the stretch of coastline that runs north from Barceloneta can be cycled for miles, without having to go near a single road. Along the way, you\u2019ll come across a plethora of <em>chiringuitos<\/em> (beach bars), as well as all the best places to swim, sunbathe and play volleyball to your heart\u2019s content.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Arc_de_Triomf_to_Parc_de_la_Ciutadella\"><\/span><strong>Arc de Triomf to Parc de la Ciutadella<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The huge monument at Arc de Triomf may not be the same as the one in Paris, but it\u2019s the place to hang out if you like street performers and, of course, <strong>cycling<\/strong>. Cycle your way from the Arc along the huge pedestrian walkway that leads down to Parc Ciutadella and you\u2019ve covered two of Barcelona\u2019s best places to hang out on a sunny day. Slowly meander your way through the park\u2019s pathways and you\u2019ll discover fountains, a pond with boats, a giant mammoth (strange but true!) and even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zoobarcelona.cat\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Barcelona zoo<\/a>. People from all walks of life come here to practice ping pong, walk their dogs or play the bongos. But there\u2019s one particular stretch of it that <strong>cyclists<\/strong> will love, and that\u2019s the area from Pla\u00e7a Universitat to Pla\u00e7a d&#8217;Espanya. The street has two off-road bicycle lanes (one on each side of the street), so novice cyclists won\u2019t need to <strong>cycle<\/strong> on the busy roads. Once you\u2019ve reached the roundabout at Espanya, a stunning sight awaits you at the end of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina: the majestic building of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Museu Nacional d&#8217;Art de Catalunya<\/a>, flanked by the famous Magic Fountain. Park your bike and climb the steps to the museum.
