The project was completed in 1906.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With its beautiful use of ornaments, sculptures, ceramics, wood, marble, stain-glass, and mosaics, <strong>Casa Lle\u00f3 i Morera<\/strong> became one of the most valued pieces of Spanish <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/alternative-architecture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">architecture<\/a>, a treasured example of the <strong>Catalan Modernism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Related article:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/architecture-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The old and the new: Barcelona&#8217;s most stunning architecture<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Location\"><\/span>Location<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Casa Lle\u00f3 I Morera<\/strong> is one of three noteworthy sites in Passeig de Gr\u00e0cia, located right next to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/casa-amatller\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Casa Amatller<\/a>, by Josep Puig I Cadafalch, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/casa-batllo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Casa Batll\u00f3<\/a>, by Antoni Gaud\u00ed. These three gorgeous buildings by some of the most important names in the <strong>Catalan Modernism<\/strong> gave that particular area the name of <em>Mansana de la Disc\u00f2rdia<\/em>, which in English means \u201cBlock of Discord\u201d since no one seems to be able to decide which one is the prettiest house.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_house_today\"><\/span>The house, today<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_89872\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-89872\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-89872\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Enric-Mart\u00ednez-i-Vallmitjana-via-VisualHunt-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-89872\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by Enric Mart\u00ednez i Vallmitjana via VisualHunt<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2006, <strong>Casa Lle\u00f3 I Morera<\/strong> was purchased by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyn.es\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>Grup N\u00fa\u00f1ez I Navarro<\/strong><\/a>, a Spanish enterprise that works in construction, real estate development, sales, rentals, car parks, and warehouses. The group also works actively on the restoration of historic buildings, including palaces and hotels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When the group acquired the house, it underwent a two-year restoration and conservation process that focused mainly on the fa\u00e7ade, backyard and interior spaces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Casa Lle\u00f3 i Morera<\/strong> used to be open for visits but recently it has, unfortunately, closed its doors. He created a number of gorgeous buildings in the city of Barcelona, some of which can be visited on the inside.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_89869\" style=\"width: 302px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-89869\" class=\" wp-image-89869\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/kkmarais-via-Visualhunt-300x220.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"214\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-89869\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by kkmarais via Visualhunt<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana<\/strong> is one of the most important music halls in all of Catalonia. The building, which was originally created for the Orfe\u00f3 Catal\u00e0, was designed by\u00a0<strong>Domen\u00e8ch i Montaner<\/strong> in 1905 and built in three years, opening its doors for the first time on February 9th of 1908. The\u00a0<strong>Palau<\/strong> has stained glass windows, mosaics, sculptures and iron structures, all of which give it a very lavish look. The main music room is absolutely dazzling, complete with a multicolored stained glass piece on the ceiling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sant Pau Recinte Modernista<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_89873\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-89873\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-89873\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/kkmarais-via-Visualhunt-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-89873\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by ANSELM &#8211; via VisualHunt<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The beautiful\u00a0<strong>Modernist<\/strong> section of the\u00a0<strong>Sant Pau Hospital<\/strong> stands in the district of Horta-Guinard\u00f3 as a true testament of\u00a0<strong>Lluis Domen\u00e8ch i Montaner<\/strong>&#8216;s architectural genius.
