Unfortunately, despite <strong>Barcelona<\/strong> having a great variety of beaches, there are certain times in the year when it is forbidden to bring your <strong>dog<\/strong> with you. A law was passed in 2014, determining when <strong>dogs<\/strong> can or cannot be present at the beach:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Not allowed:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Weekends from April to October<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Easter<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1<sup>st<\/sup> of July until the last Sunday in September.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These dates determine periods when the beaches attract more people. Not everyone is fond of <strong>dogs,<\/strong> so it is understandable that they should not be present at the beach during the days when it becomes full, so as not to cause any trouble.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the rest of the year, when <strong>dogs<\/strong> are allowed at the beach, you should still use a leash and always pick up the <strong>dog\u2019s<\/strong> droppings with a plastic bag and deposit them in the nearest trash can. The only <strong>dogs<\/strong> that are always allowed on the subway are guide dogs.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dogs_at_the_parks\"><\/span><strong>Dogs at the parks<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are several parks in <strong>Barcelona<\/strong>, a number of them <strong>dog-friendly<\/strong>. Most of the parks have a <a href=\"http:\/\/guia.barcelona.cat\/es\/llistat?tipuscerca=generica&amp;cerca=Pipicans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><strong><em>pipican<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, a fenced area where people can let their pets off their leashes. Some of the<em> pipicans <\/em>have enough space for <strong>dogs<\/strong> to run around and play with each other, but others have a very reduced space. Another unpleasant aspect of the <em>pipicans<\/em>, is that some owners do not pick up after their <strong>dogs,<\/strong> which makes the area unfit for other <strong>dogs<\/strong> to visit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In general, you can walk in parks with your <strong>dog<\/strong> on a leash. When the park is a very calm area with a reduced number of visitors, it\u2019s ok to let your <strong>dog<\/strong> roam free for a while \u2013 that is, if it\u2019s not a dangerous <strong>dog<\/strong> breed, and if the <strong>dog<\/strong> is obedient and will come back to your side as soon as you call him.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dogs_in_stores_and_restaurants\"><\/span><strong>Dogs in stores and restaurants<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/cutlery-62852_640.jpg\"><img class=\"size-medium wp-image-59082 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/cutlery-62852_640-300x195.jpg\" alt=\"dog barcelona\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" \/><\/a>There are several businesses in <strong>Barcelona<\/strong> that allow the presence of <strong>dogs<\/strong>. It is our duty, as <strong>dog<\/strong> owners, to show others that <strong>dogs<\/strong> can be a part of society in a respectful, educated manner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Be attentive when walking your <strong>dog.<\/strong> Don\u2019t let it destroy public property, like digging or ripping flowers from public parks, or leave the <strong>dogs<\/strong> droppings in a public spaces.
