Get a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/croissants\/\" target=\"_blank\">croissant<\/a><\/strong> for an even cheaper but tasty treat. A caf\u00e9 con leche (coffee with milk) shouldn\u2019t set you back much more than a meagre 1.60 euros. Usually there are tables and seating, or you can buy to go if you are in a rush to get to the beach or park! In the latter case, a good idea is to buy a baguette for lunching\/picnic\u2013ing later in the day. You can find some packets of meat or cheese to make sandwiches. Thrown in some snacks and drinks (cans of beers are super cheap) and then split the cost among friends. You should be able to get what you need for around five euros.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Head_to_the_beach\"><\/span>Head to the beach<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When the <strong>sun is shining<\/strong>, which it usually is, surely one of the most enjoyable and cheapest ways to spend the day is on the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/best-beaches-near-barcelona\/\" target=\"_blank\">beach<\/a><\/strong>. Pack a book, games, sun cream, picnic (as above) and you are pretty much set for the day. Barceloneta is extremely handy and you can probably get there walking, depending on where you are coming from. However it can get very crowded, particularly in the height of summer. I strongly recommend heading to a beach outside Barcelona, and you can do this without even spending too much. Going south, you can get to <strong>Castelldelfels<\/strong> and <strong>Sitges<\/strong> for the price of a metro ticket, and in fact if you have a multi-journey metro ticket, you can use it for the journey to those destinations.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%A6or_the_park\"><\/span>\u2026or the park<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another perfect place to enjoy <strong>sunshine<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/park-picnic-barcelona\/\" target=\"_blank\">picnic<\/a><\/strong> and <strong>company<\/strong> on a budget is at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Parc_de_la_Ciutadella\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ciutadella park<\/a><\/strong>.<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/images-1.jpg\"><img class=\" size-full wp-image-56911 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/images-1.jpg\" alt=\"images (1)\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><\/strong> There is lots of space to lay down, mess around and watch the world go by. There is always a great atmosphere at the <strong>weekends<\/strong>. Go with friends, music, cold drinks, snacks and activities (e.g. slack line, football or whatever you and your friends can provide).<br \/>\nAnother nice place for relaxing alone or with friends is up on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/montjuic\/\" target=\"_blank\">Montjuic<\/a><\/strong>, in one of the peaceful and pretty gardens.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"For_something_more_active%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>For something more active\u2026<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you want to do something more <strong>energetic<\/strong> without notching up on transport costs, Barcelona is a unique city in that it offers the opportunity to <strong>hike in the hills<\/strong> without leaving the city. To get to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tibidabo.cat\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Tibidabo<\/a><\/strong> walking, the only costs you will incur is the cost of transport (train or bus) to base of the hill and the cost of water and snacks. You can really enjoy a taste of nature, as you work your way up the paths, which weave and wind their way up to the cathedral at the top. The hike up takes approximately 1 \u00bd hour, so do make sure you take water and decent shoes!<br \/>\nSightseeing<br \/>\nBarcelona is a city rich in <strong>architecture<\/strong>, <strong>art<\/strong> and <strong>culture<\/strong>, most of which can be appreciated from the street without the need to pay any entrance fees. You can get to most places of interest on foot; although you are likely to cover a lot of ground you probably won\u2019t notice it (until the end of the day when you suddenly feel exhausted!) as it\u2019s so pleasant and there\u2019s so much to take in along the way.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dinner\"><\/span>Dinner<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">My personal favourite and fun way to eat on a budget is to go to a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinotxobar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pinotxo bar<\/a><\/strong>. <strong>Calle Blai<\/strong> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pinotxo.jpg\"><img class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-56912\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pinotxo-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"pinotxo\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><strong>Poble Sec<\/strong> neighbourhood is famous for being lined from end to end with bars offering 1euro pinotxos. Most are decent, with some definitely better quality than others. These type of bars can also be found all over Barcelona. Pintxos are basically little tapas, served on bread with a stick. You pick what you want and at the end pay for however many sticks you have.
