The Sant Creu I Pau hospital<\/strong> was built at the beginning of the 1900s, in great part thanks to the contributions of Pau Gil i Serra<\/a><\/strong>, a banker and patron of Barcelona<\/strong>. The project was commissioned to Llu\u00eds Dom\u00eanech I Montaner<\/strong>, one of the most important Art Noveau<\/strong> architects<\/a> of the time. The hospital was inaugurated in 1930.<\/p>\n

\"hsp\"<\/a>In 2009, Hospital de Santa Creu I Pau<\/strong> opened new installations, better prepared for the practice of modern medicine and the vacant Art Noveau<\/strong> complex<\/strong> began a restoration process. The main rehabilitation work has been focused on restoring the fa\u00e7ade of the buildings and uncovering the beautiful inner design and decoration<\/a> that had been hidden under layers of plaster for many years.<\/p>\n

Sant Pau<\/strong> Recinte Moderniste<\/strong><\/a> has been declared by UNESCO<\/strong> as a Historic Artistic Monument and World Heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When buying your ticket<\/a><\/strong> you can choose if you want to visit the Art Noveau Site<\/strong> by yourself or if you would like to have a guided visit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Standard tickets cost 8\u20ac<\/strong>, while the ticket that includes the guided visit<\/strong> costs 14\u20ac. <\/strong>People between 16 and 29 and people over 65 pay 5.60\u20ac<\/strong> for the standard ticket or 9.80\u20ac<\/strong> for the guided visit.<\/p>\n
