Also, you can only let your dog off the lead in designated dog areas, and you will be fined heavily for not picking up the mess.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now we\u2019ve got the nasty parts aside there is the good stuff. Having a dog in Barcelona can be a real pleasure. Parc de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/the-natural-side-of-barcelona-collserola-mountains\/\"><strong>Collserola<\/strong><\/a> is the largest metropolitan park in Europe next to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tibidabo.cat\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Tibidabo<\/a><\/strong>, a theme park on top of a mountain and of course <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/parkguell.barcelona\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Park Guell<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There is also a fantastic doggy swimming pool at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2014\/06\/09\/who-let-the-dogs-in-purpose-built-canine-swimming-pool-now-open-4755011\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Resort Canino Can Jane<\/a><\/strong> just outside Barcelona city center. Based on the assumption that humans get far too much attention toward their leisure time and dogs are missing out on a good dip!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The beach is open to dogs during the winter months so you can wander along the sea front and let your hairy companion dive amongst the surf.&nbsp; But in the summer months, it\u2019s closed to dog walkers, unless you head to the special <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/dog-beach-barcelona\/\"><strong>dog beach<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_104880\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-104880\" class=\"size-full wp-image-104880\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/dogs-5282275_640.jpg\" alt=\"dogs on beach\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-104880\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Photo via Pixabay<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fortunately, you may walk your dog along the concourse that runs behind the beaches the whole way from La Barceloneta to Badalona, it\u2019s quite a walk, lined with palm trees swaying in the wind and boats sailing past the city.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Transport_and_your_dog\"><\/span>Transport and your dog<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During Summer 2014 in Barcelona, there is a new trial period for taking dogs on the metro. This means that, except for rush hour, for the next 6 months it will be possible to take your dog wherever you want on the metro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, you must have a muzzle and an in-extendable lead on the dog.
