The <strong>bikes<\/strong> are customizable both in regard to components and types of <strong>bamboo.<\/strong> They are<strong> handmade in Barcelona<\/strong>\u00a0using sustainable materials like <strong>bamboo, resins,<\/strong> and <strong>natural fibers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We saw the first <strong>bamboo bike<\/strong> on the Lijiang River in the interior of China, in April of 2012. We were excited about the idea of creating a <strong>bike<\/strong> with this sort of material\u00a0and started looking for information on the qualities of the <strong>bamboo<\/strong> and the companies that were selling it. In July 2013, when we came back to Barcelona, we had a challenge: being able to make a <strong>bamboo bike<\/strong> with our own hands.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_are_the_faces_behind_Bamboo_Bikes_Barcelona\"><\/span>Who are the faces behind Bamboo Bikes Barcelona?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are\u00a0<strong>Mariona Martinez<\/strong> and<strong> Marc Navarra<\/strong>, two young graduates in business administration and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/cost-student-visa-spain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">students<\/a> of engineering for industrial production. The relationship between weight and strength that <strong>bamboo <\/strong>offers\u00a0makes it a very attractive material for making <strong>bikes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Bamboo<\/strong> absorbs hits and forces to which a <strong>bicycle frame<\/strong> is exposed, reducing the perception of the difficulties of the road and providing a more comfortable ride with a smoother pedal stroke.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/rent-bikes-sants-montjuic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>bikes<\/strong><\/a> need special care and it is necessary to go through annual maintenance to extend the life of the <strong>bamboo,<\/strong> which is estimated between 10-15 years, if you take good care of it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tell_us_about_the_production_process_of_your_bikes\"><\/span>Tell us about the production process of your bikes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our\u00a0<strong>bicycles<\/strong> are created according to each customer&#8217;s specifications.
