The theatre, known as <strong>El Liceu<\/strong> by the locals, is the oldest theatre in the city and has survived many tragic incidents including two fires and a bombing. He started his career as an actor before moving into the director role. Most recently, he has been applauded for his production of Verdi\u2019s \u201cFalstaff\u201d at the Metropolitan <strong>Opera<\/strong> in New York City. After producing a wonderful version in London, he brought it to the United States for on another great showing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2010, <strong>Carsen<\/strong> produced the entire tetralogy of Richard Wagner\u2019s \u201cDer Ring des Nibelungen\u201d in the Cologne <strong>opera<\/strong> house situated on the Rhine River in Cologne, Germany. <strong>Wagner\u2019s Tetralogy<\/strong> is a series of four <strong>operas<\/strong> called \u201cThe Ring of the Nibelung\u201d, or often shortened to \u201cThe Ring\u201d. This particular work of the tetralogy emphasizes the self-destructive power of humans and how it clashes with the natural world. <strong>Carsen<\/strong> takes Wagner\u2019s work and recreates an opera with a compelling mix of gods, power, politics and drama.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Even if you are living on a tight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/budget\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">budget<\/a>, you can find tickets to the show for under 10 euros.
