Within this battery of war and weapons store, hides a <strong>gallery of secret tunnels through which they transported ammunition<\/strong> at that time.<\/p>\n<p>Upon entering the building that houses the Parks and Gardens services in<strong> Joan Brossa<\/strong>&#8216;s own garden, we can still see on the ground the <strong>traces of the rails of the wagons<\/strong> they used to transport howitzers, and although many of the tunnels were covered when they built the old Montju\u00efc amusement park, closed in 1998, it is said that they even connected with the Castle, which gives us an idea of how extensive these galleries were at the time.<\/p>\n<p>To get to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/maps?q=jardins+joan+brossa&amp;FORM=HDRSC4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Joan Brossa Gardens<\/strong><\/a> you can do it through the line 150 of the Barcelona bus network, until the stop of Miramar Avenue &#8211; Funicular Station.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Other_underground_tunnels_in_Barcelona\"><\/span><strong>Other underground tunnels in Barcelona<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are many theories about a city of labyrinths and secret tunnels hidden beneath <strong>Barcelona<\/strong>. One of these theories, located in the <strong>gardens of Can Altimira caves<\/strong> full of natural stalagmites, and natural water wells, some of these contaminated.<\/p>\n<p>There is also the theory that the <strong>ancient Roman city of Barcino hid numerous passageways, tunnels and underground galleries<\/strong> that crossed the city to outside the limits of the wall that delimited it. Many are of the opinion that these tunnels are still intact under the city, a city with more secrets than they would have us believe.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Anti-aircraft_shelters\"><\/span><strong>Anti-aircraft shelters<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"alignright wp-image-101176 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/refuge-antiac3a9rien-barcelone_03-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the midst of the <strong>Spanish Civil War<\/strong>,<strong> Barcelona<\/strong> suffered a large number of bombings, which made citizens build underground <strong>anti-aircraft shelters<\/strong> to protect themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The best known refuges are those of Poblenou, known as <strong>Refugi 307<\/strong> and which have little secret, as they can be visited through the <strong>Museum of History of Barcelona (MUHBA)<\/strong>. They are tunnels about <strong>400 meters long<\/strong>, with different rooms where the inhabitants of the city lived sheltered from the war.
