In this article we propose a route that is usually full of tourists in summer for being a gastronomic and cultural hub, but that is just as beautiful in winter. Take advantage of this \u201cdaydreamers\u201d tourist\u2019s absence that you won\u2019t have to dodge\u2026 The route spreads from Port Vell to the Barceloneta beach, through various essential landmarks. During the fourteenth century the building was renovated according to the gothic style and its height was expanded. Before the Spanish Civil War began its conversion into the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mmb.cat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Museo Mar\u00edtimo de Barcelona<\/a><\/strong> and has been until now. Inside you can find several temporary exhibitions that take advantage of this huge space for artistic purposes, such as the controversial <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bodiestheexhibition.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Bodies<\/a> exhibition, which exhibits real human bodies, or the most recent and famous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.titanic.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Titanic<\/a>, commemorating the centenary of this ship sinking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/3579214748_01a29fe01c_o.jpg\"><img class=\"alignleft wp-image-1006\" title=\"3579214748_01a29fe01c_o\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/3579214748_01a29fe01c_o-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"135\" \/><\/a>We continue this walk in the <strong>Moll de la Fusta<\/strong>, a lovely boardwalk that runs along the dock of Barcelona, where luxury boats, yachts and other smaller boats are tied up. The Moll de la Fusta runs parallel to Paseo Col\u00f3n and invites you to go over it, jogging, skating or cycling. The culmination of this promenade is the statue of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roy_Lichtenstein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Roy Lichtenstein<\/a> <\/strong>called &#8220;The Face of Barcelona&#8221;, leaving behind the floating <strong>Rambla del Mar<\/strong> that leads us to the mall <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maremagnum.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Marem\u00e0gum<\/a><\/strong>, the <strong><span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.portvellbcn.cat\/en\/live_port_vell\/points_of_interest\/det-imax_port_vell_i14403\">IMAX<\/span> <\/strong>(3D films are projected in Omnimax and Imax, suitable for the whole family) and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aquariumbcn.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">L\u2019Aqu\u00e0rium<\/a> <\/strong>(aquarium with more Mediterranean species in the world). This footbridge was designed by the architects Helio Pi\u00f1on and Albert Viaplana. In this department store we also can find a multiplex cinema, dozens of boutiques, ice cream stalls, nightclubs, restaurants and other businesses. It is also located in one of the most beautiful locations throughout the city, with stunning sea views. Furthermore, Maremagnum is open from Monday to Sunday and from 10am to 10pm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/barceloneta_0.jpg\"><img class=\"alignright wp-image-1007\" title=\"barceloneta_0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/barceloneta_0-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"135\" \/><\/a>We continue to <strong>Paseo de Joan Borb\u00f3<\/strong>, known before the year 1993 as the Paseo Nacional. Right at the beginning we find the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhcat.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Museo de Historia de Catalu\u00f1a<\/a><\/strong>, and from its terrace (free access) you can enjoy superb views of the harbour and the city. Moving forward through the \u201cpaseo\u201d you will find very busy \u2013specially in summer- restaurants, ice cream shops and supermarkets. The Paseo Joan de Borb\u00f3 flows into the <strong>Barceloneta Beach<\/strong>, Barcelona&#8217;s busiest beach as is the closest to the city. On a sunny day you can even walk barefoot on the sand or take a cold beer on a terrace even in winter. If you go from the beach to some narrow street you&#8217;ll be walking around the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/La_Barceloneta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Barceloneta<\/a> <\/strong>area, the waterfront district where you can eat the best paella and the best tapas of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We invite you to explore the emblematic places of this walk and to add your own places while you go over them.
