Vegetarian restaurants in Poble Sec

Being vegetarian is not as easy as many may think. There are not many vegetarian restaurants around or, at least, regular restaurants that offer veggie options. “But why do you go to a regular restaurant if you are vegetarian?” many could ask. Well, unless vegetarian individuals forced their entire family to follow the same diet or unless they were only friends with other vegetarian people, going to a “normal” restaurant is, in many situations, the most democratic decision.

Here are some of the best vegetarian restaurants in Poble Sec.

Sofrito Bar

Is it a bar? Is it a restaurant? It is both! Presenting Latin American traditional cuisine (and beverages), Sofrito Bar offers many vegetarian options. After all, Latin American gastronomy is not only about meat, chili, beans and rice. Well, maybe it is a lot about beans but besides the beans, it is full of other vegetarian recipes. Oh and tortillas, you cannot forget the tortillas! If you do not know this cuisine, give it a try. It is amazing, especially for vegetarians.

Bar Seco Taverna

Like Sofrito Bar, Bar Seco Taverna is not exclusively vegetarian. Its specialty is Mediterranean cuisine. However, it offers veggie options. Besides the vegetarian dishes, Bar Seco Taverna has another plus: it has gluten free food, which makes it perfect for those who suffer from gluten intolerance. Cocktails are very good and the environment is very friendly.

Where: Passeig de Montjuic, 74

La Cambicha

A very nice place with very cool atmosphere, La Cambicha is definitely worth a visit. The food there is Mediterranean and South American, which includes vegetarian dishes. It is perfect for a brunch in one of those weekend days when we wake up late and are lazy to cook. It is open after-hours, so if you happen to be hanging out with your friends at night and suddenly get hungry, La Cambicha is a safe bet.

Where: Carrer Poeta Cabanyes, 43.

La Come Dia

When it comes to pizza and pasta, it is always easier to provide vegetarian options. Either because the restaurant itself offers those options or just because we can easily choose the ingredients without spoiling the recipe. Thus, La Come Dia is a very diplomatic option for vegetarians and non-vegetarians to eat together. Besides that, it is one of the best restaurants in Poble Sec for Italian food.

Where: Carrer de la Franca Xica, 15.

Ouzoud

Although very discrete, this Moroccan restaurant will be a surprise. Even the plates are carefully decorated with Arab motives! The atmosphere does not lie: you are in an Arabic place, full of colors and sparkling lights. Here the vegetarian menu is cheaper than the regular one (13.50€ against 15.50€).

Where: Calle Salva, 5.
