Two world premieres at the “Salón del Automóvil de Barcelona”

Written by Adriana

The Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy opens today, surrounded by the controversy of the cuts being carried out his executive team, the Salón Internacional del Automóvil (International Motor Show) in the Fira de Barcelona at Montjuïc. This highly anticipated biennial event opens its doors to the visitors on Saturday May the 11th until the 19th in the same month, and has the presence of 22 car brands that will unveil 2 novelties (RS Twizy Renault F1 and Volkswagen e-up!), 4 in the European continent (Audi A3 Sedan, Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept, Nissan Juke with new dCi diesel engine Range Rover Sport new generation) and up to 30 nationwide. All motor lovers that are spending some days or a long term in Barcelona staying in one of our rental apartments in Barcelona, you can’t miss this event.

It’s obvious that they are trying to claim the Spanish product in the Salón del Automóvil proving the Spanish automotive industry potential. Still, the number of manufacturers that are on this reference show has been reduced because of the financial crisis in the sector that primarily affects the distribution. With more than a million visitors, more than 60,000 budgets requests, more than 150 exhibitors and over 250,000 square meters of exhibition in previous editions, this edition is expected to reach the same number despite the economic situation. In addition, the event coincides with the celebration of the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Montmelo circuit and the X-Games in Barcelona, which multiplies the number of visitors and motor lovers in the city those days.

The ticket for the Salón Internacional del Automóvil has a very affordable price (12 euros) and includes additional activities such as exposure of the prestigious European Car Of The Year, which celebrates its 50th anniversary, an area outside the enclosure to test new car models, live concerts on the 15th and the 16th with  some famous singers as David Bustamante, La Union, Blaumut, and the 40 Principales DJ’s, and many more surprises.

Feel the engine at full speed while enjoying one of the most fantastic cities in the world!
