Spend Valentine’s Day in Barcelona

As the Spanish song says… “un año más es catorce de febrero”, Valentine’s Day, the day of love! Maybe you’re not the kind of person who celebrates these festivities because you think they have been invented by the malls to sell teddy bears and chocolates. But what would be better than suddenly surprising your partner celebrating your love on Valentine’s Day? You don’t need to spend money on a gift, any special detail you have with your girlfriend or boyfriend, husband or wife, will be received, for sure, with a big smile… While enjoying one of our rental apartments in Barcelona, take these recommendations for a special Valentine’s at a very affordable price…

You can start the day taking the breakfast to the person you love in bed. This is not a thing easy to forget, so don’t be lazy, wake up earlier than him or her and prepare a complete breakfast to start the day with energy and happiness.

In Barcelona there are many romantic (and free) sites where you can take your girlfriend or boyfriend and declare him/her your unconditional love. From the Miramar Gardens viewpoint, in Montjuïc, you’ll enjoy a walk and beautiful views of the harbor and a part of the city, that will make you re-fall in love instantly. Keeping on with some romantic sites, the Horta Labyrinth Park is one of the most bucolic enclaves of Barcelona, as well as a perfect place to get lost holding your loved person hand. Don’t miss the chance to see there the neoclassical pond and pavilion or the nymph Egeria Fountain. You can also discover the Gothic quarter following the route known as “love route” which begins in the Plaza del Rey through the Cathedral (facade of which has just been restored), through the spectacular Catedral del Mar, walking on Bisbe Street and the Plaza de Sant Felip Neri, to Plaza Sant Jaume, where you’ll find the Generalitat of Catalonia.

If you have to work all day long and don’t have time to do anything during the daylight hours, take the afternoon and the evening to cook your girlfriend or boyfriend favorite dish or something that you know he/she likes. Put some candles on the table, buy a good wine and surprise him/her when he/she got home. And as a dessert don’t stop thinking about this feeling that moves the world, love!, prepare some popcorn and watch a charmingly romantic movie such as “The Notebook”, “Titanic”, “PS: I Love You”, “500 Days of Summer”, Before Sunrise”, “Ghost”,”Edward Scissorhands “, etc., to name a few.

Join romance and love with your everyday life and find happiness with your loved one! Make every day Valentine’s Day… every day count and is special for you and your life’s partner…
