Photoepilation in Barcelona

Photoepilation, also known as photo-depilation, is a technique used to remove hair by using light. The process consists of applying Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) in a controlled manner to destroy the capacity of the follicle to generate hair again. A correct and safe application of the IPL doesn’t damage the skin, only the hair follicle.

Photoepilation is not the same thing as laser hair removal, although they are quite similar. The advantage of the Intense Pulsed Light is that it is more versatile and it can sometimes be more effective than lasers, because it takes into account the hair color and the skin color of the individual.

Photoepilation is a good solution for those who have grown tired of having to manage hair growth in the body, or have unwanted hair growth in specific areas because it produces long-lasting effects.

No+vello

No+vello is a chain of beauty service centers across the world that specializes on hair removal. The centers have a standardized price or tarifa plana of 30€ per session of photoepilation, regardless of what area the treatment will be applied to.

There are several No+vello centers in Barcelona. The ones closest to the center are at Carrer del Consell de Cent 218, Carrer de Caspe 115, Carrer de Lull 206, and Carrer Torrent de l’Olla 194.

Soleil

Soleil is located at Passatge Posoltega 10, next to La Maquinista mall.

French Kiss

French Kiss presents itself as “the most chic aesthetic Beauty Salon in Barcelona”. The French Kiss centers offer a variety of beauty and wellness service at affordable prices, including photoepilation sessions, with prices starting at 35€.

There is French Kiss center at Avinguda Portal de L’Angel 23, and another one at Carrer d’Aragó 371.

Like with any other treatment, you should get informed before starting Photoepilation sessions. Talk to a dermatologist to learn if this is a good method for you and your type of skin.

Photoepilation should not be used by people who present skin diseases, who have varicose veins, acute herpes, severe hypertension, severe ischemic heart disease or any sort of infections.

The possible side effects of Photoepilation are light burning of the skin and the appearance of dark or light spots on the skin. There is also the possibility of having hair grow in the areas that surround the ones that have been treated.

Note: People who are considering starting a Photoepilation treatment should avoid being in the sun at least 15 days before and after the treatment.
