Are you touring Europe and only have one day in town? Barcelona is a city with so much to offer in terms of culture, food and landscape it can be hard to choose what to visit.

If you are only staying for one day, don’t waste your time stopping for a big meal. Unless you are a die-hard fan of paella and prefer to take a seat at one of the touristic restaurants in Las Ramblas, your best bet is to go into La Boqueria market and search for the booths in the back that sell sweet and savory treats. Take your pick, take a bite and you are on the move again!
Tip: Avoid the market’s main entrance. It is usually so crowded, it takes several minutes to walk a couple of steps. Look for the restaurant “Wok to Walk”. There is a side entrance to La Boqueria right next to it.

La Sagrada Família is an awe-inspiring church with a mesmerizing façade, gigantic columns, and gorgeous stained glass windows.
La Pedrera is an innovative and daring work, evidence of Gaudí’s mastery of not only Architecture but also Engineering.
One of the most interesting and historically rich areas of Barcelona is the district of Ciudad Vella. Here you will find fascinating neighborhoods like El Gòtic, where you can see chapels, temples, museums and other constructions built as part of the Gothic architectural movement.
Another interesting neighborhood is Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera, where you will find the area known as Born. This is one of the hippest barrios of Barcelona, where you will not only find historical landmarks but a variety of creative businesses founded by some of the brightest young minds in the city.
