Museu del Modernismo Barcelona

Founded in March of 2010, Barcelona’s Modernism Museum specializes in the Catalan modernist period. MMBCN occupies a modernist building from the early nineteen hundreds designed by Catalan architect Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia, also responsible for the New Customs House (Duana), the church of Tibidabo and the Caixa de Pensions building, in Via Laietana.

Museu del Modernismo Barcelona has a large collection of works that represent different artistic genres like interior decoration, painting and sculpture. There are pieces that used to belong to lavish bourgeois houses, pieces that used to on the streets and works from private collections.

Museu del Modernismo Barcelona aims to educate visitors about the Catalan modernist movement.
