MOB stands for Makers of Barcelona. It is the brainchild of Cecilia Tham, you can read about her story and how it all came into being here. She’s founded a creative hub that you’ll likely hear about from one of your creative friends if you live in Barcelona.
Their mission is best put in their own words – “The philosophy of MOB is that of a self-perpetuating, ever-evolving creativity loop. By connecting people, who may otherwise not have the opportunity to know one another, we open an infinite chain of possibilities for collaboration.”
You can join the MOB community in a couple of ways, either by renting a desk/space at their place and getting amongst the projects, following their blog, or going along to one of their many meetups.
Here are a couple of upcoming talks & events to attend if you see yourself becoming one of the MOB:
Build your first web page in just 20 hours with Ubiqum
This is a short introduction to coding. It will allow you to build your very first website and get to grips with how real developers operate on a day to day basis. The course is split into 4 days of task-based challenges. This program is suitable for people interested in picking up Web Development as a profession, and who are curious to know what real coding is all about. The course is also open to those with some HTML & CSS experience and who are interested in a more immersive approach to improving their web development skills.

FOOD & DESIGN
Here the crew at MOB will be presenting relevant, interesting and of course “fun” projects related to the topic of Food & Design. They invite all of you food lover(s), designer(s) and/or food designer(s) to come and tell them about your (FOOD & DESIGN) projects and experiences at this event. If you have a story or a topic you’d love to present, go along, bring friends and some food to share. Beer will be on MOB!
MOB’s meet-up group has a healthy 1,824 members and counting. This is a good way to get to know the collaborators that make up MOB, with more than 100 upcoming meet-ups
