Maze walking : a stroll through Parc del Laberint d’Horta

Designed by Domenico Bagutti in 1792, Parc del Laberint d’Horta is one of the oldest parks in the city. The park used to be a private property but today it is open to the public as a museum/garden.

Neoclassical Garden

On the first level of the Neoclassical Garden you will find the labyrinth that gives name to the park. Have fun getting lost among the trimmed cypresses that form the labyrinth’s wall, stopping to observe the sculptures that can be found inside. When you finally find the exit to the labyrinth, you can visit the Jardín de los Musgos cave.

Next, climb up to the second level of the garden, where you will find the Mirador. Spend some time enjoying the view and appreciating the art work of the Italian-style fountains and statues.

Continue the visit on the third level, where you can go for a short hike to enjoy the fresh mountain air. In this level you can also find a building of neoclassic architecture: the Pabellón de Carlos IV.

There is another garden in the park where you can go visit a small waterfall or sit by the shade of the trees. This is area of is called Romantic Garden.

Parc del Laberint d’Horta

There are several interesting constructions inside Parc del Laberint d’Horta, such as the Torre Subirana, seventh-century medieval tower that used to be used for security, the old neo Arabic and neo Gothic building that used to serve as the Desvalls family palace, as well as a fountain and several busts.

The price of the ticket to the Parc del Laberint d’Horta is 2,20€ or 1,40€ for young people with Carnet Jove. Retired people and children under 5 years old can enter for free.

If you visit the park on Wednesdays or Sundays, you can go in free of charge.

The park is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the months of November and December, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. between March and October, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. during April and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from May to September.
