Burgers and cocktails by the beach? Life couldn’t get any sweeter. Yes, Makamaka Beach Burger Café has it all. The beachside location, the relaxed, summer vibes, and the Hawaiian-themed decor all perfectly complement the classic burgers and chips menu. Makamaka has flawlessly recreated the typical 70’s American surfer bar.
The large terrace, shaded by the appropriate plants and green decor hanging overhead and lined with long picnic tables, is a great place to while away a summer afternoon in the sun.

This is where Makamaka gets its reputation. Like the restaurant’s theme and decor, the menu is meticulously thought out to ensure an all-around summer-by-the-beach experience. Each dish has a catchy, fun name with their very own slogan – take for instance the Bunless Burger “The Topless” – nothing but the naked truth, or the “Hummus Threesome” – Three’s company.
They accommodate for vegans and vegetarians with the vegetarian burger, “The Little Red Corvette” and the delicious “Caesar Was Vegan” salad.
If you prefer a lighter bite, they have an excellent selection of salads such as the “Caribbean Chicken Salad” and the “Quino(n)a Salad.” Whatever you choose to eat, make sure you order the homemade garlic and parmesan fries on the side, which are perfectly portioned for sharing.
To ensure a complete Makamaka experience, check out their cocktail menu. With drinks such as “Mr. Clooney,” made with lavender syrup and pink grapefruit juice, or the fruity, fresh “Love Mule,” made with kaffir and lemongrass-infused vodka, you definitely won’t want to order a beer. Order by the glass or get a pitcher to share with friends.
If nothing on the menu tickles your fancy, there are always the monthly specials. Each month, Makamaka offers a special edition burger and cocktail, just to make things more interesting.
Breakfast at Makamaka
For the early risers, Makamaka recently introduced their very own Breakfast Club. The dishes on the breakfast menu are classics with a Makamaka kick to them like the “Hot For Teacher” breakfast burger or “The Loner” brioche sandwich. Or why not try Makakamaka’s version of Eggs Benedict, “Great Eggspectations?” – nothing beats a good pun.
For the health conscious diners, opt for the “Morning Glory” – blackberry chia yoghurt, granola, and flamed banana. Wash down your breakfast with a “Hoochie Mama-sa” – a Makamaka twist on the classic mimosa.
