Situated in the Gràcia district on Carrer Verdi is Al Waha, a restaurant that has been serving up the best of Lebanon for the last 10 years. This neighborhood is known for being a bit eclectic and a melting pot, boasting eateries of all kinds of food, so it makes perfect sense to find Al Waha here. This restaurant has traditional Lebanese dishes like shawarma, couscous, falafel, and hummus just to name a few. This restaurant is known around Barcelona as being vegetarian-friendly since you can find many meatless options on the menu. There is a lengthy vegetarian menu that you can order from a la carte, or there is a set menu of vegetarian combinations all at reasonable prices. One of the more popular dishes on the menu is the shawarma, a dish comprised of roasted meat of your choice: chicken, lamb or beef. Don’t forget to order a pita on the side to soak up all the juicy flavors!

Ziryab

Located in the backstreets of Ciutat Vella is Ziryab, a fusion restaurant and wine bar that mixes traditional Lebanese flavors with Spanish tapas. Many of the wines on the menu come from Lebanon and pair well with the one-of-a-kind tapas. The food is served in mezze style, or the small-plate style in Lebanon that is meant to share for the table, just like the tapas tradition here in Spain. The whole concept behind this restaurant is to combine Arab traditions with Spanish ones to create a new way of looking at food. Some of the most popular dishes are the eggplant “meatballs,” bacon-wrapped dates, and the marinated prawn brochette. Everything is made with fresh and wholesome ingredients, as fruits, vegetables and spices play an important role in Lebanese cooking. Whatever you eat us sure to be a wonderful surprise for your palate. Ziryab also has hookah lounge in which you can relax with friends and indulge in the ancient Arab ritual. To have a great meal and a unique experience, look no further than Ziryab.

Once you step foot into Kasbah you will feel as if you’ve been transported straight to the Middle East. Created in the architectural style of an Arabic-style building, you will be seated at a low table surrounded by rich tapestries and beautiful mosaics. You will find traditional Lebanese dishes on the menu as well as some from Morocco and Syria. This restaurant is exciting and exotic, as well as delicious. The star dish at Kasbah is the couscous, a Middle Eastern staple, as well as falafel, tajin, and lamb meatballs being crowd-pleasers. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced with very good portions as well, so there’s no reason not to try Kasbah for your next meeting with friends or night out with someone special!
