There are plenty of websites out there with up to date job offers from a range of hotels. Some of the top sites that specialize in work in the hotel industry are:

Turijobs – Here you can find just about any and every job that is hospitality and tourism related. It’s easy to set up your profile and online CV on the site. You can also receive email alerts and be the first to apply for the latest position.

Hosteleo – Another popular website where you can search by job category with a huge range of categories to choose from in the hospitality industry

Turiempleo – Similar to the above websites but it also has a section on training and courses available to help you improve your professional skills and boost your CV.

What job to choose?

Deciding what job to go for will largely depend on your skills and previous experience. Do you have prior experience working in the hospitality industry? Do you speak other languages? If so, receptionist may be more suited to your profile. If you have little experience, there are other options such as baggage handler or bartender. Also, bear in mind that some positions require weekends or nights shifts.

How much does it pay?

This obviously varies on the role, your experience and if it’s a 5-star hotel or not. But you can earn a decent wage here and there are a lot of different places to work in Barcelona from hostels to the very luxurious 5-star hotels. Currently, the minimum monthly wage for full-time employment is around €750 a month.

What work documents do I need?

If you want to work in Spain, you’ll need a NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjero) which is basically an identification number for foreigners living and working in Spain. It’s a pretty big deal as it allows you to open a bank account and apply for social security. To get the NIE head to the local Foreigner’s Office (Oficina de Extranjeros). You’ll also need register for social security but usually, you don’t have to worry about doing this as your employer does this for you. But if you’re self-employed it is your responsibility to apply for social security.

Now go find that dream job in Barcelona!
