Imagine yourself practicing yoga postures and breathing exercises under a temperature of 40.ºC and 40% humidity. Tough? Scary? Not if you enjoy the calm and relaxation of yoga combined with the pleasure of pushing yourself to the limit.

Using the already existent Hatha Yoga style, Hot yoga was designed by Bikram Choudhury in the 70s to replicate the climate of India (the country where yoga was born), increasing the potential benefits of this activity.

The heat helps to relax the muscles and boosts the ability of your body to release toxins through sweating. Hot yoga is perfect to improve your flexibility, reduce injuries and to purify your body.

It is also beneficial to burn fat and, because it is practiced under extreme conditions, it improves your concentration and mental control.

Are you ready to try it? Then keep reading ShBarcelona‘s blog article and find the best places to practice hot yoga in Barcelona.

Yogalinda is a studio that has adapted five yoga styles to the high temperatures of hot yoga (40.ºC): Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Hatha Vinyasa Yoga, Yogalates (a mixture of Yoga and Pilates) and Yin Yoga.

The three first ones are more dynamic than the last one, which is more relaxed.

They also have Pilates Barre. If you are curious about Hot Yoga but are not sure if it suits you, the first class at Yogalinda will cost you €10 and the second is free, which makes this studio a good place to try Hot yoga for the first time without any commitment.

Yogalinda is located in Poblenou at Carrer de Rosa Sensat, 4.

Hot yoga is a growing trend but if you want to try it, know that it can be a tough experience for the first couple of classes. With time you will be able to adapt the rhythm.

Have you tried hot yoga or one of these studio’s?
