Explore culture and nature with Obra Social “la Caixa”

CaixaForum

Located in a building designed by famous Catalan architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch,  where a textile factory used to exist, CaixaForum is one of the most important cultural centers in the city of Barcelona. The building was renovated by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, opening his doors in February of 2002.

CaixaForum was founded with the goal of offering the public access to art, culture, architecture and education. The center has a permanent exhibit that can be visited for free, in which visitors can learn about the process that transformed the old textile factory into the modern cultural space. CaixaForum also receives a variety of temporary exhibits featuring paintings, illustrations, sculpture, handicraft, audiovisual displays and installation.

One of the most popular exhibitions featured in CaixaForum was “Pixar, 25 years of animation”, showcasing a collection of original illustrations, short films and 3D models of all the favorite characters of the Pixar world.

CaixaForum is located at Avinguda de Francesc Ferer i Guàrdia, 6-8, right by Fira de Barcelona and MNAC.
