English counselling in Barcelona

Written by Vicky York

When the matter is delicate and personal, you want to be able to communicate in your native language, to make sure both parties understand each other perfectly. If you are in need of counseling or therapy services there are options available for native English speakers in Barcelona.

  • Hestia Barcelona is not somewhere I would suggest english speaking natives visit.

I visited a couple of weeks ago after calling my insurance sanitas in a state of suicidal emergency and was advised to go to Hestia after i refused and ambulance. I took the metro to Hestia was asked to return the following day for an appointment they gave me no option for ’emergency’.
I waited more than 24 hours, very painfully, and returned. After waiting for this doctor and begging for help at my lowest moment I get into my appointment it is with a psychiatrist and in less that 5 minutes he has told me he is not the doctor i need and sends me out the door to visit reception for a new appointment. I was happy I thought maybe tomorrow.. something will happen. Reception offered me an appointment for May 7th which at the time was 6 weeks away for me I ran out of the centre crying.

I am in the process of formally complaining this Doctor as with other services claiming to be useable for english speaking native but when you speak to the actual doctors they do not want to or have any intention in speaking with English you or fulfilling their basic duty of ‘Care Provider’.
