How To Explore Barcelona On A Shoestring Budget

As you will soon discover after getting settled into Barcelona apartments for rent this city has a lot to be proud of. Not only are there plenty of cultural and historical places for you to visit, but you can take in some really amazing architecture as well.

But when exploring the city of course you mustn’t forget that you don’t need to spend your evenings holed up in your Barcelona holiday apartments rentals. Spend time enjoying the city’s vibrant nightlife and its fantastic food.

This city like so many others offers you a wide array of sights, activities and entertainment to enjoy during your stay. But of course with so much to do and see it can get pretty expensive. Yet it is still possible for you to enjoy everything in this city whilst on a shoestring budget.

The first thing of course you will have done to keep costs down is to rent a flat in Barcelona rather than stay in a hotel. Then at least during your stay you can prepare meals for yourself rather than having to dine out every night. All the apartments available for rent for vacations come with fully equipped kitchens so preparing meals for yourself is very easy.

Once settled into your apartment you of course want to start exploring this amazing city. Below we take a look at some of the things you can do whilst in Barcelona that won’t break the bank.

Today it seems that nearly everything you want to do on your vacation is going to cost something. However when it comes to visiting Barcelona you can spend a day on the beach, especially if you happen to be visiting in the summer. For those who just want to relax and unwind head towards Mar Bella, whereas if you want to do something a little more adventurous then head to Nova Icaria where a variety of different water sports are on offer.

Of course another thing you can do that will help to keep the costs down is to actually book any tours in advance. Most companies nowadays will not only offer discounts when people book online but also can make sure that you get on a tour at a specified time.

Another way of keeping costs down is to check out which museums offer free entry on certain days. For example the MNAC (Catalonia National Museum of Art) provides free entry to it every Saturday between 15.00 and 20.00. As for the Picasso Museum you can get into this for free if you happen to be in Barcelona on the first Sunday of each month. The quickest way to find out when entry to other attractions is free is to search online.

Finally you are going to want to try some tapas at some point. Unfortunately very few bars now provide free tapas with drinks, but there are a couple that do. One particular tapas bar you may want to check out during your visit is Ambiente del Sur, which is located on Calle Viladomat.
