If you’re looking for a great restaurant for trying pulpo, the typical Spanish octopus dish from Galicia, look no further than Bobo Pulpín. Located right behind the Barcelona cathedral, octopus dishes are their specialty. With a fun, fictional theme and outstanding dishes from all over the world, Bubo Pulpín is a unique seafood restaurant and vermuteria right in the center of Barcelona.

Who is Bobo Pulpín?

Bobo Pulpín is more than just a seafood and tapas restaurant. It gets its name from the fictional character that has become the restaurant’s beloved mascot. Bobo Pulpín is a little blue octopus that has sailed the seven seas on his ship “La Tinta Negra,” (The Black Ink) in search of the best pulpo dishes in the world. In fact, he’s the captain of an entire crew of other characters who help him on his adventures. The restaurant is the place where Bobo and his crew bring back the best recipes from all over the planet to serve up to customers.

Don’t let the theme of the place fool you- it’s not just for kids. They specialize in serving some of the best quality Spanish and international seafood dishes in the city. Both a classic and modern style pulpería, they also offer a wide range of traditional tapas and delicious vermouth.

Going along with the unique theme of the place, the menu follows Bobo around the world. They not only offer the typical Galician-style octopus that’s popular here in Spain, but also a selection of international recipes traditionally made with octopus from all over the world. You can try the Moroccan octopus shish-kabob, Chinese octopus in sweet and sour sauce with bamboo, Japanese octopus with Teriyaki, Peruvian black bread sandwich with fried octopus, or the Mexican octopus cocktail. Wash it all down with a glass of white wine from Galicia or a glass of their house vermouth for a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

Although octopus might be the star at Bobo Pulpín, they also offer a long list of traditional Spanish tapas. On their tapas menu, you can find all the favorites like Iberian ham, Padrón peppers, patatas bravas, tortilla española, butifarra sausage and much more.

So the next time you’re looking for a little something new and unique or want to try an international spin on a typical Spanish dish, try out one of the delicious octopus recipes at Bobo Pulpín. Even if you’re not feeling quite as adventurous, they offer plenty of high-quality traditional dishes as well and are perfect for pleasing large groups with their varied menu.
