Located in the heart of Poblenou Kinder Barcelona is a popular nursery school specializing in multilingual education in Catalan, Spanish, English, and German. Enrollment is open for all children from eight months to six years old, and they focus on the development of children in all areas, including language immersion. Although Kinder Barcelona isn’t a Montessori school, they have adopted a Montessori way of teaching that includes practicing everyday activities with the children such as walking for small children or serving themselves lunch for the four-year-olds. Groups are divided by age and also according to language, so parents can choose the group that will suit their child best. In addition to the regular nursery school, Kinder Barcelona also offers day camps during Easter week and over the summer.

  • Outside of Barcelona, very near to Poblenou there are many options as well, for instance in Alella, a very nice town15 minutes driving from Poblenou you can find Montessori Village Maresme, a 100% Montessori school, bilingual and enclosed in a very nice village house, I think that whortwhile to have a look.

  • Hi, this post must be a bit out of date.
Kinder is far form being the best nursery school at the moment in Poblenou. There is a high rotation of educators during the same school year, they are usually students that come from different European countries for a month or 2 and they don’t get paid. Some of them are rude and they don’t even say hello or bye to the parents when you go to pick up your children.
Also, materials and toys are very well used.

I would recommend a new one called Smiles English Kids that opened last year, with more professional and caring owners and educators.
