Bar Rosso

Written by Ingrid

Do you like the idea of refined, original cocktails, served up by an artisan bartender in a setting that will transport you back in time to 1930s Hong Kong? Then let ShBarcelona recommend one of our favourite cocktail bars: a unique hideaway in the centre of Sant Antoni, set back from the bustle of the city and ideal for a summer evening on the terrace, or a warming wintertime experience.

A touch of 30s style

Still relatively unscathed by mass tourism, the neighbourhood of Sant Antoni is home to many chic boutiques, unpretentious bars and charming terraces, of which Bar Rosso boasts perhaps one of the best. Tucked away down a quiet lane, sheltered from the noise of traffic, this is the perfect spot to escape the tourist trail and relax in style.

Address:

The interior of the bar is straight out of a 1930s American movie, with a Chinatown atmosphere: all velvet cushions, soft lighting and painted woodwork. Your barman Raul, with his white shirt, braces and a Dalí-esque moustache, will be happy to prepare the finest cocktails for your delectation.

A unique cocktail list

The cocktail list is impressive and all cocktails are priced at around €10 (there is also a còctel del dia for €7.50). Vodka, violet and orange blossom liqueur, gin and tonic with a tropical twist or even (for the adventurous) bacon-infused whisky! Raul’s cocktails are original and innovative, but most importantly they taste great. If you prefer not to drink on an empty stomach, mini burgers, micro-croquettes and vegetable bravas are among the selection of tapas available.

Ideal for a summer night, the bar is equally suited to a Sunday brunch with friends. This little haven of peace in the shade is the perfect place to enjoy a few tapas and get the day off to a great start.

Bar Rosso is located within the charming Hotel Market, though there is no need to stay the night here in order to enjoy the bar or even the restaurant which is also excellent. So, if you are looking for somewhere charming and unusual to spend an evening or enjoy brunch with friends, Bar Rosso comes highly recommended by ShBarcelona. Tell us which cocktail is your favourite!

Address: Carrer del Comte Borrell, 68
