The neighbourhood of La Salut is part of the famous district of Gràcia, that borders the top of this district with the popular Park Güell. It is an extension of the neighbourhood of Vila de Gracia, towards the hill with the famous urban park, that was designed by the master of Catalan modernism: Antonio Gaudí. Its main artery, from Plaza Lesseps to the Guinardó district, is Travesera de Dalt. This great avenue has a multitude of shops, bus lines and subway stops, that provide the neighbourhood with good connections with other areas of Barcelona. If you want to live in a quiet and family neighbourhood, only a step away from the busy and lively neighbourhood of Vila de Gràcia, and with good public transport, this area can be an excellent option for renting a house in Barcelona.
The neighbourhood of La Salud is a quiet and residential neighbourhood, with spacious apartments and beautiful penthouses with great views. Given that it is located in an elevated above sea level area, the higher apartments in buildings offer wonderful penthouses with beautiful terraces and privileged views, some duplex and, in many cases, larger than average. This makes them excellent for large families, in an area that has multiple services and shops, such as libraries, schools, day care centers, health centers, sports facilities and a good public transport network. Despite being a neighbourhood with greater population density than other neighbourhoods in the Gràcia district, such as Vallcarca i els Penitents, the truth is that it has clear views and green areas of great importance, such as the interesting Park Güell. In short, La Salut is a very complete neighbourhood, with many advantages for families. As far as prices are concerned, it is not a very cheap neighbourhood, due to the multitude of services present. Prices tend to be higher, also because the houses are larger than in other areas of the district, such as Vila de Gràcia, but being close, you can enjoy the advantages of this popular neighbourhood, still with the tranquility that is not common in the nerve center of Gràcia.
An essential site to see in the neighbourhood of La Salut is the impressive Park Güell, one of the most extensive urban parks in Barcelona and bordering several districts of the district of Gràcia and El Guinardó. In the entrance, that belongs to the neighbourhood of La Salut, you can find the most important monuments that master Gaudí created for this forest area. The impressive staircase decorated with ceramics, the fountains, the dragon, the hypostyle hall, the Greek theater, the undulating bench and ‘portico de la Lavandera’, are key elements of this original area, that captures the history of Barcelona. The Royal Sanctuary of San José de la Montaña, a Neo-Romanesque building with modernist elements intended for church and convent, is another attraction in this part of the district of Gràcia.
