The neighbourhood of El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova is one of the neighbourhoods that belongs to the much requested district of Gracia. It is a newer urban area and architecturally speaking, it has wider streets and newer buildings compared to its neighboring Vila de Gracia. The neighbourhood is well connected, but not at the same level as Vila de Gracia. It also has many services, especially food stores, restaurants, bars, municipal facilities and gyms. It is a quieter neighbourhood than Vila de Gracia, and therefore ideal for families, since there are several schools in the area.
The neighbourhood of El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova is part of the district of Gracia, that is limited by the Carrer de Bailén, Escorial, Roussillon, Camelias, Sardinia and Pi i Margall. The lower part is distinguished by having a similar apearance as l'Eixample, with wide streets, buildings distributed by blocks, large, bright apartments with high ceilings and authentic tiled floors. Multiple bus lines and several metro stops connect the area with other parts of the Catalan capital. You can enjoy many services here, like bars, restaurants, coffee shops, schools, food stores and other shops. This really is a family oriented neighbourhood. The upper part of the neighbourhood has undergone great transformations, showing more contemporary apartments with an average size, and there are various bus and metro lines in the district. There is no shortage of services in this area, and you can also find several educational centers and important municipal facilities, such as the civic center of La Sedeta, where a multitude of activities and courses are offered for all ages, at symbolic prices. The atmosphere in the upper part is enjoyable and friendly, and most of the buildings have an elevator and garage. El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova is without a doubt a quiet neighbourhood, but still only one step away from the lively and busy Vila de Gràcia, something that contributes a wealth of services and leisure opportunities to this area of Barcelona, but with the tranquility of being able to sleep at night.
One of the interesting sites in this neighbourhood is the old factory of La Sedeta, a large industrial area that opened in 1899 and which functioned as a factory until well into the twentieth century. Since its closure it has been reconstructed to become a school with several municipal facilities, including a civic center, which is one of the largest and most active ones in Barcelona, and where you can take part in many activities, courses and workshops. Carrer de l’Escorial has several buildings from the 60’s with an interesting and modern architecture, and some of them are the highest of that time. They are mostly duplex and with incredible views. If you are looking for a family neighbourhood, a quiet part of the city with many services, but only a step away from all the life and fun of the Vila de Gràcia, this is your neighbourhood.
