Ametller Origen

Located all over the city, Ametller Origen is an organic supermarket that offers conscientious, high-quality products selected with costumer health in mind, with products from other areas in Catalunya such as Girona and El Maresme.

In addition to groceries, different store locations also offer a variety of cafe options inside, such as salad bars, sushi bars, and bakeries, with some also offering restaurants. Instead of going to one of their locations, you can also utilize their online store which allows you to select products to be delivered to your home within two hours. If your order is over 60€, delivery is free.

If you need some cooking inspiration, they also offer healthy recipes on their website. Amatller Origen was started by the Amatller family, who boast a legacy of growing healthy and sustainable food since 1830.

Tribu Woki

Tribu Woki presents itself as a way of life that allows people to get back to their roots but in a modern context. They bet on quality products which have been produced in the best conditions and in an honest way. They offer mostly locally-sourced items which are in season.

They sell only ecological products which are free from synthetic or chemical products, and which are full of nutritional value and a rich taste. They have eight supermarkets in Barcelona and a number of restaurants, including Barra, in Barceloneta, Barracuda, in Castelldefels, Woki Organic Market, at Plaza Catalunya, Woki Playa, in Barceloneta, Woki Organic Market at Passatge Marimón, and Céleri, also at Passatge Marimón.

La Boqueria

La Boqueria is undoubtedly Barcelona’s most famous food market and an actual touristic attraction. Walking into La Boqueria, you will find amazing displays of fruits and vegetables, stalls specializing in nuts and cheeses and many other types of food to choose from.

The best way to shop at La Boqueria is to take a walk and compare the prices of the items that you need to buy in a couple of different stalls. There are plenty of fruit cups ready to be picked up and enjoyed on the spot as well as a wide variety of juices combining the taste of local and exotic fruits.

The juices are usually very cheap, costing between 1€ and 2€ – again, it pays to compare prices from stall to stall. If you have never visited La Boqueria market before, bring a camera with you. You won’t be able to resist the dazzling variety of colors and the beautifully arranged displays.

  • Would it be possible to buy 25-50kg of cacao nibs wholesale from you and if so how much?
My wife has an internet home-made organic soap company and wants to use this in a recipe.

    Many thanks

  • Michael, this post is so helpful! I’m hosting a cooking retreat in Barcelona in a few months and I’m trying to locate the shops I’ll need to visit to get all my ingredients. I’m trying to track down where I can find coconut yogurt. Do you know if any of these stores carry it? Thanks for your help. 🙂

  • Amatller Origen is not a organic supermarket, the quality is low and seeking the goodness of their clients. Terrible article. There is supermarket named Organic Supermarket on Muntaner street.
